This was part of an e-mail that was sent to all the parents of the students in Indies class:
Important News: A young lady in our class named Indie was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer just before we went off-track.
Luckily the cancer has not spread to other parts of her body and her
treatments are going well. We really want to show we support and care
about her in her time of need. Please put her in your prayers! Our school DARE officer, Officer Penrod has come up with an idea to raise money for the family and show Indie our support by sponsoring a school fundraiser from Nov. 13 to Dec. 8. If the school can raise $500 or more, Officer Penrod will let Indie shave his head at an assembly on Mon. Dec. 11. Mrs. VanNatter has also opened this up to 6th graders to have their heads shaved too. If there are any 6th graders willing to shave their head in support of Indie, please let me know ASAP. We will need written permission from parents in order to do this. These students will be allowed to wear a hat in school until their hair grows back. Indie and her family will get the money and be able to use it for medical expenses or to donate to Primary Children's hospital or another charity of their choice. This is a great idea to show Indie we care and are behind her whatever may happen!

That is so awesome!! There is lots of love all around us.
Wow, that IS awesome! So can family come to that assembly too? That is so cool when leaders in the school are not afraid to ask people to pray. Indie, you sure are loved!!
